Did you set the heat too high? Did you forget to stir your sauce… Don't throw it away, we have solutions for you.

First of all, NEVER scrape the bottom!

Pour the contents into another pot and place this new pot in the sink in a basin of very cold water.

Cover your pot with a damp cloth for at least 5 minutes. The burnt smells of your dish will be absorbed this way.

You can try one of the following methods:

patate

The Potato...

The potato is still the champion for saving you from disasters. Place a raw potato in for 20 minutes, then discard the potato afterwards.

Baking Soda…

Add baking soda with a little water to the dish.

Brown Sugar...

Add a little brown sugar. It should remove the taste, at least partially.

Milk

Milk neutralizes the burnt taste... but only to a certain extent!

Onions

Cut thick onion rings and place them on top of the dish. Let them absorb the burnt taste. Then, discard them and gently change pans, without scraping the bottom.
