Teriyaki Pork Chops

Ingredients

For 3 to 6 servings

  • 2 lb (908 g) of bone-in pork chops (about 3 large or 4 medium chops)
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (65 ml) soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup (85 ml) chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) fresh ginger, minced (or 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) ground ginger)

Instructions

Place the pork chops at the bottom of the slow cooker and mix the remaining ingredients (soy sauce, broth, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sugar) in a bowl.

Pour the mixture over the pork chops and cook on low heat for 5 hours before removing the pork and serving over a bed of white rice accompanied by sweet potatoes or green vegetables.




Cranberry Apple Pork Chops

Ingredients

For 4 servings

  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) olive oil
  • 4 boneless pork loin chops
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 cup (250 ml) apple juice
  • 1 cup (250 ml) fresh cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) mustard, coarse-grain or whole-grain
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups (500 ml) Granny Smith or other tart apples, peeled and diced

Instructions

Lightly oil a 6-quart slow cooker and place the pork chops at the bottom.

Mix the remaining ingredients in a large bowl, except the diced apples. Pour this mixture evenly over the chops.

Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours.

Sprinkle the diced apples over the pork chop mixture. Cover and continue cooking on low for another 30 minutes, until the apples have softened slightly.

Serve with roasted root vegetables and potatoes.





Pineapple Barbecue Pork Chops

Ingredients

For 4 servings

  • 1 can of 8 oz (227 g) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 cup (250 ml) honey barbecue sauce
  • 1/3 cup (65 ml) finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chili sauce
  • 4 bone-in pork loin chops (8 oz / 227 g each)

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix the pineapple, barbecue sauce, onion, and chili sauce. Pour half into a pre-greased slow cooker. 

Top with pork chops and the remaining sauce.

Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until the meat is tender. 




Lemon Pork Chops

Ingredients

For 4 servings

  • 4 bone-in pork chops (7 oz / 198 g each)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) pepper
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium lemon, sliced
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (65 ml) ketchup

Instructions

Place the pork chops in a slow cooker. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top with onion and lemon. Sprinkle with brown sugar, then pour the ketchup.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender. 




Ginger Pork Chops

Ingredients

For 6 servings

  • 6 boneless pork chops
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (65 ml) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup (65 ml) soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons (60 ml) honey
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pepper

Instructions

Place the pork chops at the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.

Whisk together all the other ingredients in a bowl, then pour the mixture over the chops.

Cook on low for 6 hours.






Pork Chops with Creamy Ranch Sauce

Ingredients

For 4 servings

  • 2 lbs (908 g) boneless pork loin chops (4 chops)
  • 1 packet of 1 oz (28 g) ranch salad dressing mix
  • 1 can of 18 oz (510 g) creamy mushroom soup
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) cornstarch


Instructions

Spray a slow cooker with cooking spray. 

Sprinkle both sides of pork chops with ranch salad dressing mix. Place the pork chops in the slow cooker.

Pour the soup over the pork chops.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or until the pork is tender. Remove the pork chops from the slow cooker and place on a plate. Cover to keep warm.

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water until smooth. Stir into the sauce in the slow cooker with the remaining creamy mushroom soup. Cook on low for 3 to 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens. 

Serve over pork chops.
