Salads are an easy way to eat vegetables, and there are countless different recipes to suit all tastes.

Served as an appetizer or as a main course, salads are an excellent way to eat healthily. But one thing makes all the difference when it comes to the taste of the salad in question: the vinaigrette!

Some of us are satisfied with buying ready-made sauces designed to dress the vegetables in no time. However, there are many ways to add more flavor to your salad by making your own vinaigrettes using just a few ingredients that you probably have on hand.

After discovering the recipes below, it's likely you won't dare consume industrial vinaigrettes anymore, preferring to let your creativity season your salad!

Garlic and Lemon Vinaigrette

If you want a more citrusy flavor, mix a quarter cup of olive oil with half a cup of lemon juice and incorporate a few cloves of minced garlic.

Oil and Vinegar

This is the simplest vinaigrette imaginable! Inspired by Italian cuisine, this sauce can suit a wide variety of salads. To make your vinaigrette, simply pour one part olive oil to two parts vinegar and mix. To add a bit more taste, you can even add your own spices like paprika.

Fresh Herb Vinaigrette

To a base of olive oil and red wine vinegar, add 1/4 cup of fresh herbs of your choice. Some classic herbs such as basil, cilantro, and parsley are safe bets, but feel free to be creative and choose your herbs based on your salad's content!

Apple Cider Vinaigrette

If you like sweet and sour flavors, using apple cider vinegar is an excellent way to please you! Measure a third of a cup of olive oil and mix it with a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar. You can also add a bit of honey and two teaspoons of Dijon mustard. For even more flavor, add a few drops of soy sauce to the mix.

Tahini Vinaigrette

To give your salad a Mediterranean touch, mix half a cup of lemon juice with an equal amount of tahini. Add a pinch of salt, and you're done! For a flavor explosion, complete the recipe with paprika and cumin.

Greek Yogurt Vinaigrette

If you love ranch-type sauces, this recipe is definitely for you! All you need is half a cup of plain Greek yogurt, mixed with two tablespoons of honey, two more of lemon juice, and two more of olive oil. With spices like paprika or curry, you can also give an oriental touch to this recipe. Since this vinaigrette is very creamy, only put a little on your salad to savor all the taste.

Pepper and Parmesan Vinaigrette

Combine two or three tablespoons of mayonnaise with the oil and vinegar base described as the first recipe in this article. If you want a low-fat option, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt. Add one tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese and pepper to taste.
