We wish all our mornings started like this!
The best spreadable caramel is undoubtedly this one! It's actually Mandoline's caramel, but let's say Annie's marvelous photos from the blog The Gourmet Treasure caught my attention! A pure delight.
Ingredients
1/4 cup of unsalted butter
1 1/4 cup of packed brown sugar
1/2 cup of milk
3/4 cup of corn syrup
1 can (300 ml) of sweetened condensed milk
[pub]
Preparation
In a bain-marie, melt the butter and add all the ingredients. Mix. Cook on low heat, uncovered for 20 minutes.
Cover and continue cooking for an additional 40 minutes. NEVER STIR the caramel during cooking.
Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes.
With a wooden spoon, stir the caramel for about 1 to 2 minutes.
Pour the caramel into jars and transfer to the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, the caramel will thicken as it cools.
