Cooked with a touch of maple syrup, it becomes just sweet enough that we can enjoy it any time of the day. 

Ingredients
6 apples 
1/4 cup maple syrup 
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 cup water

Preparation
Peel and quarter the apples
Place the apple quarters in the slow cooker.
Add the maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and water.
Mix to coat the apples well.
Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.
Using a masher, mash the apples.
Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
