You will love these muffins, made with maple syrup and apple sauce.
Makes 12 muffins
Ingredients:
Topping:
3 tablespoons of flour
3 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons of margarine
For the muffin:
1 ¼ cups of flour
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of baking powder
¾ teaspoon of baking soda
a pinch of salt
1/4 cup of maple syrup
6 tablespoons of brown sugar
½ cup of melted butter
½ cup of apple sauce
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 tablespoons of milk
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f and butter a muffin pan.
Topping:
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Add the margarine or butter and mix with a fork or with your fingers.
Muffins:
In a bowl, place the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk the maple syrup, brown sugar, margarine, apple sauce, vanilla, and milk.
Add the syrup and milk mixture to the dry ingredients.
Pour the batter into the muffin pan.
Add the topping on top.
Bake the muffins in the oven for 15 minutes.
