Ingredients
For the sauce:
- 1 1/4 cup of 35% cream
- 3/4 cup of maple syrup
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
For the cake:
- 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup of butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 egg at room temperature
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 cup of apples, peeled and diced small
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and butter a 9 x 13-inch dish.
- In a saucepan, heat the cream, maple syrup, and brown sugar. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the butter and sugar until the mixture whitens.
- Add the egg, whisk again, then alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk.
- Add the apples and pour into the baking dish.
- Gently pour the sauce over the dough, without stirring.
- Bake for 50 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
