Ingredients
2 cups of flour
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
½ cup of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
½ teaspoon of salt
1 cup of plain yogurt or buttermilk
¼ cup of vegetable oil
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1 egg
2 apples peeled, diced
½ cup of chopped walnuts
Garnish :
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and butter a muffin pan.
In a large bowl, mix the flour, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, the brown sugar, the baking powder, the baking soda, and the salt.
In a small bowl, using a whisk or a fork, mix the buttermilk or yogurt, the oil, the vanilla, and the egg.
Pour over the dry ingredients and mix until the batter is moist, no more.
Gently fold in the apples and walnuts.
Distribute the batter in the prepared pan.
In a small bowl, mix the sugar and the remaining teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the muffins.
Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
