Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar 
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon 
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped 
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream


Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f and butter a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the white sugar and butter until creamy.
  4. Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. In a third bowl, mix the flour and baking powder, then pour into the butter mixture.
  6. Incorporate the milk.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan and add half of the apple mixture, finishing with half of the brown sugar mixture.
  8. Repeat the layers.
  9. Swirl the brown sugar mixture with a knife.
  10. Bake for 1 hour.
  11. In a bowl, mix the powdered sugar and milk.
  12. Glaze the cake.
