It is nothing like a commercial sauce
It is very easy to make your own pizza sauce.
I must confess that it is in no way comparable to a commercial sauce.
This sauce keeps for 3 weeks in the refrigerator.
Cook it with your family, the children will be thrilled to offer some to grandpa and grandma.
Ingredients
2 tsp (10 ml) of olive oil
1 tbsp (15 ml) of butter
4 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tsp (10 ml) onion powder
1 tsp (5 ml) red pepper flakes
2 tsp (10 ml) fresh basil
1 tsp (5 ml) fresh oregano
1 tsp (5 ml) thyme
2 cans 8 ounces of tomato sauce
4 tbsp (60 ml) tomato paste
5 tbsp (75 ml) fresh Parmesan cheese, grated
2 tsp (10 ml) brown sugar
2/3 cup (170 ml) lukewarm water
Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
1-In a large saucepan, add the olive oil and butter.
2-Add the garlic, stirring several times around the pan then quickly add the onion powder, red pepper flakes, basil, oregano, and thyme. Stir several times.
3-Add the grated Parmesan and brown sugar.
4-Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water. Stir to mix and bring to a gentle boil.
5-Reduce heat, season to taste, and let simmer for 1 to 2 hours to enhance flavor.
