Get out the chips and veggies!
Homemade ranch dressing is so much easier than you thought and is far better than what you can get at the store!
This ranch dressing recipe is excellent served on a salad or as a dipping sauce!
But what makes this recipe so incredible?
The simplicity and the ingredients. You probably already have everything you need in the kitchen!
Moreover, it is very versatile. Some people prefer their ranch more liquid, others thicker, tangy or not, etc. So making it at home allows us to adapt it to our tastes!
This homemade ranch dressing recipe is quite thick. You can simply add a little water, whole milk, or canola oil to the mix to make it more liquid, for salads, for example. Keep in mind that anything you add to the dressing will slightly alter the flavor. Add them sparingly and keep some spices handy to adjust the taste if necessary.
If you like your ranch dressing a bit spicier, you can add a splash of lemon juice or white vinegar (about 1 teaspoon) to the recipe.
Greek yogurt and sour cream give a creamy and tangy flavor to the homemade ranch dressing, but sour cream contains more fat and calories, while Greek yogurt provides more protein. If you like the flavor of Greek yogurt, you can increase the protein of your dressing/dip by leaving out the sour cream and adding Greek yogurt instead.
Some people prefer to add buttermilk to a ranch dressing. You can then reduce the amount of mayonnaise to 1/2 cup (125 ml) and add 1/2 cup (125 ml) of buttermilk.

The cooling period allows all the flavors to marry together. Once refrigerated, store the sauce in an airtight bottle.
The ranch sauce should keep for about 2 weeks. (Check the expiration date of the sour cream).
