Edible cookie dough is the perfect treat when you crave something sweet. The following recipe eliminates the risk of salmonella, so dig in with your spoon freely!

Is all-purpose flour safe to eat raw?

This recipe requires all-purpose flour which should not be eaten raw as it may contain harmful bacteria and other contaminants.

The safest way to consume flour is to heat treat it before eating.

How to heat treat flour?

Heat treating the flour is an important step before eating it raw. It ensures that bad bacteria are killed, so the flour can be used in no-bake desserts like this one.

There are two methods to heat treat flour.

1. The simplest way to heat treat the flour is to put it  in a bowl and microwave it on high until it reaches 165 degrees.

2. The second method requires using the oven. Spread  the flour on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake it for 10 minutes at 350 °F.

Once the flour is cooked, it can be used in any no-bake recipe.
