How to Remove Burnt Plastic from the Ceramic Cooktop

Oh no, did your bag melt again on a hot burner?

I'm sure this has happened to you before... No? Personally, it's happened to me and still does from time to time.

I know I shouldn’t use my ceramic cooktop as a countertop, but I can’t help it; I always put a lot of food and utensils on it.

This happened to me the other morning: I cooked some porridge for breakfast, and when I wanted to make some toast, I forgot and put my bread bag on the burner that was still hot.

Oh no! The bag, of course, melted and stuck to the ceramic cooktop.

Here's the method to remove the melted plastic without damaging your ceramic cooktop:

  • First thing, let the burner cool completely before starting the cleaning.
  • Then, spread a good amount of baking soda on the melted plastic.
  • Spray white vinegar and use a scrubbing sponge to start scrubbing the burnt plastic.
  • Rinse with clear water and use a clean, dry cloth to wipe the cooktop.

Impeccable result, guaranteed!
