Once you've tasted caramelized onions, you just can't get enough! They are delicious!

You can put them everywhere... in a burger, on a steak, make a pizza, or just like that on your plate.

It's a really easy recipe to make, the ingredients are not expensive.

Everyone can succeed like a chef!

Ingredients

2 pounds of yellow onions

2 teaspoons (10 ml) of salt

3 teaspoons (15 ml) of sugar

4 tablespoons (60 ml) of unsalted butter

Preparation

1. Cut the onions in half, remove the hard layers, and slice the onion halves thinly.

2. Place the sliced onions in a plastic bowl, sprinkle with salt and sugar and mix. Set aside for at least 10 minutes. (There is no maximum duration)

3. Melt the butter in a pan. Add the sliced onions. Reserve all liquid in the bowl.

4. Cook over medium heat, stirring often with a spatula, until the onions begin to brown.

5. Reduce the heat and add the liquid from your bowl.

6. For optimal results, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and cook for an hour, stirring every 10 minutes.

*** They can be refrigerated for 2 weeks or frozen for 3 months.

*** You can enrich these sweet onions with rosemary, thyme, black pepper, chili, or cloves.
