Ingredients

Chicken

  • 900 g of boneless chicken breast cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil

Sauce

  • 2 teaspoons of sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons of grated ginger
  • 3 finely chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup of chili sauce

Preparation

Coat the chicken cubes with cornstarch.

In a large bowl, mix the eggs, flour, baking powder, and salt. Coat the chicken by placing it in the bowl.

In a skillet, heat the oil over high heat and add the chicken.

Fry the chicken for 10 minutes, stirring regularly. The chicken should be golden brown on the outside and no longer pink on the inside.

Remove the chicken from the heat. Prepare the sauce.

In a saucepan, mix the sesame oil, ginger, and green onions and cook for 3 minutes over medium-high heat.

Add the water and maple syrup, then let simmer for 1 minute.

In a bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in the soy sauce and chili sauce. Pour the mixture into the saucepan. Cook for an additional 2 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.

Add the chicken to the sauce and serve with a side of your choice.
