Preheat the oven to 325º F (160 °C).
Place the crust in a standard pie dish and bake in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until slightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.

In a saucepan, over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter and the heavy cream until the butter is melted.
Stir in the cornstarch and sugar, stirring continuously until thickened, about 6-7 minutes.
Stir in the maple syrup, maple extract, vanilla extract, and salt if necessary, and whisk until combined.

Pour the filling into the pie crust, then pour the remaining melted butter over the filling.

Mix the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the filling.
Place the pie in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is well golden and the filling is foamy without being too hard.
Remove from the oven and let cool, then refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.
