Mini Apple Tarts Made in an Ice Cube Tray

Apple pie is a classic dessert that's great for any occasion! Whether served with ice cream or eaten on their own, they delight the finest palates. 

But as the portions served are often generous, the recipe below will satisfy your craving for apple pie without overloading your stomach!

The recipe yields 12 servings, so small they can be swallowed in one bite! All you need to prepare it is an ice cube tray, which will hold each part of this pie.  


Ingredients: 

2 apples cut into small cubes

1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon

3 tablespoons of brown sugar

1 1/2 tablespoon of cornstarch

Uncooked pie crust

Two eggs

Sugar, to taste

Preparation:

In a bowl, place the diced apples, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Mix all the ingredients with a spoon.

Next, take your pie crust dough and place it over your ice cube tray.

Using your fingers, press the dough into the wells until it touches the bottom of each compartment.

Then fill each compartment with the apple filling.

Break your two eggs into a bowl. Using a brush, coat the top and sides of the pie with the egg.

Then cover your pie with the other half of the crust.

Flatten the dough well with a rolling pin.

Then remove the excess dough with a knife.

Next, turn the mold over, remove it, and cut each piece of pie.

Place the tarts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Then brush them with the beaten egg.

Sprinkle them with sugar.

Then bake in a conventional oven for 25 minutes at 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). 

All that's left is to enjoy them. They can be savored on their own, or dipped in caramel sauce, or served with ice cream!
