The only thing you need to worry about is whether there's any milk left in the jug!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • 1 egg

PREPARATION

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Remove 3 tablespoons from the cup of sugar and set aside for rolling the dough balls later.
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and creamy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Scrape down the bowl with a spatula, then add the molasses and egg. Beat for 2 minutes.
  • Set the mixer to low speed, then slowly add the dry mixture, beating until smooth.
  • Form dough balls of about 1 tablespoon each.
  • Roll each ball in the reserved sugar and place on the cookie sheets 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9 to 10 minutes.
  • Cool completely on the baking sheets before transferring to wire racks.

The perfect cookie for dunking!
