Let's face it... a gumbo bun is always good!
A classic remains a classic! Why wait until December to indulge! I present to you Nancy's gumbo buns from Nancy!
Ingredients
1 pound of ground beef
1 pound of ground pork
2 cans of Campbell's chicken gumbo soup
½ cup of ketchup
3 tbsp mustard
2 celery stalks, diced
½ finely chopped onion
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tbsp oil
24 small salad buns

Preparation
In a large skillet, heat the oil, sauté the onion, garlic, and celery for a few minutes.
Add the ground meat and continue cooking until the meat is cooked. Add the ketchup, mustard, and gumbo soup. Mix well.
Let simmer, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is well reduced (about 20 to 30 minutes).
Cut the salad buns ¾ through and fill with the meat mixture.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and heat the stuffed buns for about 5 minutes.
