Eating spoiled meat can have serious consequences on health. You can contract diseases such as hamburger disease, salmonellosis, and many other infections caused by the presence of harmful bacteria.

You have probably already heard a phrase like this: "it's not a big deal if it's not fresh anymore, I'm going to cook it and the bacteria will die." Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way! Spoiled meat is contaminated and no matter how you treat it, it will be toxic to your body.

It's not complicated to see that meat is spoiled:

  • Spoiled meat emits a putrid smell.
  • Spoiled meat has a strange color. In fact, spoiled meat is no longer red, it has a brown-black tint.

So, even if the expiration date on your package has not passed and you bought this meat the same day, but you notice one of these two characteristics, do not eat it!
