
This cake is by far the best on the planet
Don't be intimidated by the list of ingredients, this cake is particularly easy to make and it's worth it.
Ingredients
2 cups of flour
1 ½ cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of kosher salt
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup of water
6 ounces of unsalted butter
⅓ cup of cocoa powder
1 tablespoon of espresso powder
6 ounces of chocolate chips
½ cup of sour cream
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 ½ tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
16 large maraschino cherries
¾ cup of cherry pie filling
Cheesecake
2 packs of 8 ounces of cream cheese
½ cup + 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
3 cups of flour
1 egg
For the icing:
1 cup of icing sugar
1-2 tablespoons of milk
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f and grease and flour a bundt pan.
For the cake
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
In a small saucepan, mix the water and butter.
Once the butter has melted, add the cocoa and espresso powder.
Stir in the chocolate chips, then mix until smooth.
Add the chocolate sauce to the dry ingredients and incorporate the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla.
Cheesecake
With an electric mixer, whip the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla for 3 minutes.
Add the flour and egg.
For the assembly:
In your prepared pan, pour 1 ½ tablespoons of melted butter.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of brown sugar over the butter.
Evenly distribute your cherries.
Pour ¾ of the cake batter into the pan.
With a spoon, add the cheesecake in the center only. (see the video)
Cover with the remaining cake batter.
Bake for 1 hour, then let cool for 10 minutes before inverting your cake.
For the icing:
In a large bowl, whip the sugar and milk.
Pour over the cooled cake.
