Today I present to you Jasmine's delicious grape tart, a cooking enthusiast. She has tasty recipes, superb photos that make us want to try everything. You can also find her recipes on her blog Jasmine cuisine.

Ingredients:

For the crust

  • 1 1/3 cups of flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 5 tablespoons of cold butter, cut into cubes
  • 5 tablespoons of vegetable shortening, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup of cold water (a bit more if needed)

For the filling

  • 1 1/2 cups of raisins
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups of corn syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preparation: 

In a bowl, combine the flour and salt, cut the butter and the shortening into the flour.

Add the cold water and mix using a wooden spoon.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. 

Roll the dough out and transfer it to a greased and floured 9-inch pie plate. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. 

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees f and place a sheet of parchment paper on the dough, then cover with beans.

Bake in the oven for 25 minutes. 

Remove the beans and parchment paper and allow the crust to cool.

Reduce the oven to 350 degrees f.

Place the raisins in the cooled pie crust.

In a large bowl, beat the remaining filling ingredients with a whisk and pour over the raisins.

Bake in the oven on the bottom rack for 15 minutes, then move to the center rack for an additional 15 minutes.
