The good old recipes from the past are certainly the most delicious!

Ingredients: 

2 tbsp of butter 
1 piece of beef shoulder with bone, 2 pounds
4 pork chops 
4 onions sliced or in pieces
2 tsp of salt


Herb Bouquet: 

3 bay leaves 
10 crushed juniper berries (IGA)
4 parsley sprigs 
3 unpeeled crushed garlic cloves 
1/2 tsp dried thyme 

Rest of ingredients:

1 turnip cut into large cubes
10 carrots cut into pieces
Salt and pepper
1 cabbage cut into slices 
8 potatoes cut into pieces
1 1/2 pounds of yellow beans

Preparation 

In a large pot, melt the butter.

Brown the meats on all sides and add the onions. Continue cooking for 2 minutes. 

Add about 1 inch of water to the pot. Salt and place the herb bouquet.

Cover, bring to a boil and let simmer for 1 hour. 

Add the turnip and carrots and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.

Check regularly that the meats are still covered with liquid.

Add the cabbage and potatoes, cook for 30 minutes. 

Finish by adding the beans and continue cooking for 15 minutes.

Remove the herb bouquet.

Serve.
