It's Mother's Day, let's take the opportunity to cook the dishes that made us so happy when we were little...

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
  • 1 3/4 cups of macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 medium can (540 ml) of diced canned tomatoes (Aylmer)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 1/4 cups of water


PREPARATION

  • Place a pot over medium-high heat and grill the ground beef. Drain the excess fat.
  • Add the onions and garlic.
  • Sauté until they are translucent and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour in the water and the tomatoes.
  • Add the paprika, chili powder, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, basil, bay leaf, pepper, and salt. Stir.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let simmer gently for 20-25 minutes.
  • Add the macaroni. Stir.
  • Cover again and let simmer over low heat for an additional 20 minutes, until the noodles are al dente.
  • Serve with a piece of buttered bread, yum!
