A pure autumn delight! A simply exquisite recipe from my friend Rejean Michaud.
Ingredients
For the sauce:
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup margarine or butter

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, 2 cups of sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Make a well in the center and pour in the eggs, oil, and vanilla; mix together. Stir in the apples and nuts. Pour into the pan.
Bake in the oven for 60 minutes.
In a saucepan, combine all the sauce ingredients. Simmer for 3 minutes. Pour over the hot cake while it's in the pan and let cool completely.
