White Cake with Brown Sugar Sauce St-Hubert Style
Ingredients:
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
¼ cup of soft butter
2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 cup of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Ingredients:
2 cups (400 g) of brown sugar
4 tablespoons of flour
3 tablespoons of cornstarch
3 tablespoons of margarine or butter
1 cup of milk + ½ cup of cream 15%
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper. Butter and flour afterwards.
In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder.
In a second bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, and butter.
Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk and vanilla extract.
Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes
In a saucepan, mix the brown sugar, flour, and cornstarch. Add the margarine, milk, and vanilla. Whisk.
Once the sauce is slightly thickened, remove from heat and pour over the cake
