A Mozzarella-Stuffed Meatloaf Will Surely Impress Your Guests!

I love meatloaf, especially this one.

With a few slices of mozzarella inside, it's perfect.

Ingredients

  • 454 g of ground beef 
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano 
  • 1 teaspoon of dried parsley
  • pepper & salt
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce 
  • 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella slices
  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • ¼ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • salt & Cayenne pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, basil, oregano, parsley, salt, pepper, milk, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Divide the meat in half. 
  4. Form the first layer of the meatloaf and place it in the prepared pan.
  5. Place the mozzarella slices in the center.
  6. Form the second layer of your meatloaf, place it over the cheese, and seal the sides. 
  7. In a bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar, garlic, salt, and Cayenne pepper. 
  8. Pour half of this mixture over the meatloaf.
  9. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven and pour the remaining sauce over the loaf.
  11. Increase the temperature to 400 degrees f and bake again for 15 minutes.
