I love meatloaf, especially this one.
With a few slices of mozzarella inside, it's perfect.
Ingredients
- 454 g of ground beef
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- 1 teaspoon of dried parsley
- pepper & salt
- ½ cup of milk
- 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
- 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella slices
- 1 cup of ketchup
- ¼ cup of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- salt & Cayenne pepper
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, basil, oregano, parsley, salt, pepper, milk, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Divide the meat in half.
- Form the first layer of the meatloaf and place it in the prepared pan.
- Place the mozzarella slices in the center.
- Form the second layer of your meatloaf, place it over the cheese, and seal the sides.
- In a bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar, garlic, salt, and Cayenne pepper.
- Pour half of this mixture over the meatloaf.
- Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and pour the remaining sauce over the loaf.
- Increase the temperature to 400 degrees f and bake again for 15 minutes.
