A landscaping company gave a very good lesson to a customer who refused to pay.
A woman named Katelyn and her boyfriend own a landscaping company and recently, a client decided to give them a hard time because she was not satisfied with the work that had been done on her property.
The owner of the company explained in a video: "I am so [angry] right now. My boyfriend and I own a landscaping company, and we just did this job for this woman where we did her front and back yard. [...] But she wanted it done during the heatwave, so the grass turned a bit yellow, but it wouldn't have happened if she had watered it like we advised her to. So she paid the first half because we asked her to in advance, because we had to pay the men and the equipment, and stuff like that. And I was supposed to pick up the check on Saturday for the rest, but she had a family emergency, and she couldn't leave the check for that reason, no matter what."
Katelyn continued her story by explaining that the client then started making their life difficult: "So I show up, and right away, she starts: 'Look at my lawn, I'm not paying for that'. [...] So, basically, I have one of our employees with us to see where this is going to lead us. So she [complains] about: 'Well, it doesn't look good', this and that. I'm like: 'Yeah, but you didn't water it. We advised you to take care of your lawn, you didn't do it. And I'm here to pick up the check today. You said it was Saturday, you keep causing delays. That's not how it works, so you're going to have to pay.'"
While Katelyn still had hope that her client would eventually pay, she was taken by surprise when the client asked her for a paper invoice.
When Katelyn realized that the client would never pay for the remaining work, she simply decided to ask her employees to tear up the lawn that had not been reimbursed yet.
The rather surprising scene of revenge was even filmed!
Now, it is unknown how this story will end, but some experts have warned Katelyn that her company could attract problems with this stunt...
