Would you care if it was next door to you?

Tips and Crafts

Emilio Rodriguez is a homeowner from Pflugerville, Texas who had a very specific "dream house" in mind. His idea of a perfect home includes a bright bubblegum pink exterior. As you might already think, no his neighbours aren't very pleased by his choice.

Rodriguez is a smart man and he knew that a neighborhood association will never approve of his taste. Basically, a homeowner's association  called HOA is an organization that renforces rules for the properties and its residents.

"No HOA. I pre-planned this specifically because of that reason, so when people get mad I explain there is no HOA here," said Emilio Rodriguez to CBS.

He really studied on this issue : "Even if they made an HOA right here I'm already grandfathered in so we're set," said the man to Fox 7. "I did my homework beforehand."

Now, you might ask but why pink? Rodriguez was in a terrible car accident at only four years old that left him paralyzed from the waist down. The man said: "When I have to do medical stuff I can look up at the pink house and it kind of calms me down a little bit." This is probably not the reason you were excepting!

Some neighbours seemed to be touched by Rodriguez story and said:  "I would suggest to neighbors to be open minded because you know I think should invest energy into being different and being yourself and not let being yourself be suppressed about what society thinks is normal."

However, as you might already except it, the vast majority are hating the look and thinking of filing a lawsuit, calling the house an "eyesore"

But that doesn't seem to be stopping the young man who wants to add even more pink! "The driveway's going to be pink, I'm getting all the grass removed for pink tile blocks, I'm going to have pink spot lights on the trees, pink car. I will paint my wheelchair pink," he said.

On which side are you? Do you agree with Rodrigo or the neighbours?
