An architect spent over 40 years creating a fairytale home from an old cement factory.

Rocardo Bofil, an architect from Spain, spent 45 years turning an old cement factory into beautiful modern homes. La Fábrica is located just outside Barcelona, and served as World War I repair shop. That was before Bofil and his team turn the place into a luscious space.

Bofill said: “This cement factory, dating from the first period of the industrialization of Catalonia, was not built at once or as a whole but was a series of additions as the various chains of production became necessary. The formal result was given, then, by a series of stratified elements, a process which is reminiscent of vernacular architecture, but applied to industry.”

Take a look at the transformation!

La Fabrica now!

The entrance looks like a science-fiction movie! So luxurious.

There is beautiful lush greenery on the outside now.

The inside is so modern! It is not for everybody's taste, but it's truly unique.

What do you think of this bedroom?

It has a very industrial feel to it.

The living room space is gigantic.

Each of the rooms has its own special purpose, and no room look quite alike.

This project feels more like a piece of art than a home!

Could you see yourself in a space like this?

What do you think of the project? To this day it is still not finished!
