An easy and effective trap for fruit flies

Spend a bug-free summer in the kitchen.

Tips and Crafts

If you have a problem with fruit flies, it's time to get rid of them!

You can reduce the risk of infestation by washing all fruits upon returning from the grocery store, to ensure that no eggs can hatch.

However, if despite your efforts, tiny flies appear, you can easily get rid of them.

You will need:

A cup, glass, or Mason jar

Apple cider

1/2 teaspoon of dish soap

Directions:

1. Fill the glass or jar with 2 cm of apple cider vinegar, add 1/2 teaspoon of dish soap and stir.

2. Cover the top of the glass or jar with plastic wrap and wrap a rubber band around the edge to hold it in place.

3. With a toothpick or knife, make small holes all over the top of the plastic wrap.

4. Place the container next to the fruit on the counter.

That's it! The flies will be trapped and will die.

NOTE: Whiskey can replace apple cider vinegar.
