Do not throw away your yellowed pillows, instead do like this woman who knows how to make them as white as new!

These spots can completely disappear if you know how to clean them!

Tips and Crafts

It is normal that pillows turn yellow over time because our head sweats a lot more than we think during the night...

Do not throw away your pillows because they are yellow and stained.

Fortunately, it is very easy to remove those yellow stains with this cleanser recipe and this easy-to-follow method!

  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 cup powdered laundry detergent
  • 1 cup dishwasher soap (powdered)
  • 1 cup bleach
  • ½ cup Borax (powdered)

***Read the care label on your pillows first: make sure you can machine wash them.

Dissolve the ingredients in 2 cups of hot water or more if necessary.

If you have a traditional load washer, fill the basin with hot water before pouring in the ingredients, then put the pillows in. Let them soak for at least 1 hour before starting the wash cycle with hot water.

If you have a front-loading washer, you'll have no choice but to put the ingredients in at the same time as the pillows. Stop the machine once it is full of water to soak your pillows before starting the full cycle with warm water.

Wash only 2 pillows at a time to give them space. More than that and they will not be cleaned properly (and your washer could be damaged).

During the rinse cycle, press to interrupt the cycle and turn the pillows over in the washer. Reactivate the cycle.

In the dryer, add tennis balls in with the pillows: the balls will help dry them faster and get back into shape. [pub]

You should wash your pillows like this twice a year.
