Some people live near a municipal swimming pool, others are fortunate enough to have a swimming pool in their backyard. And some very lucky people have Keith Davison as a neighbour! This elderly man decided to build a swimming pool in his backyard, but for others to enjoy!

After the death of his wife, the 94-year-old man found his house to be quite empty and lonely. We can understand it, after having lived a union of 66 years!

Davison then had an amazing idea that he hoped would bring life and laughter back in his home. This retired judge decided to install a swimming pool in his backyard.

Not really for him, but to invite all the children in the neighborhood.

His idea of creating a swimming pool for the neighborhood children initially surprised the community. A lot of people thought it was a joke and didn't really believe he would put a swimming pool in his backyard. When they saw the start of construction, they were pleasantly surprised. This neighborhood has no other community pool!

The old man's swimming pool takes up a good part of his backyard as it is 32 feet long. There is even a diving board!

Hard not to love this. At 94 years of age, Keith Davison has just installed a backyard pool. Keith has been lonely...

Davidson was sure the kids would be there, and he was right! The only requirement of the nice neighbor is that a child's parent or guardian be nearby to supervise. In addition it allows him to chat with adults at the same time.

“He is an amazing neighbor and he loves children. He kind of adopted all the kids in the neighborhood, ”said Jaime Mundal, 40, who lives four houses away from Mr. Davison. Her four school-aged children regularly visit the pool.

What do you think of this story? Would you have done the same as Mr. Davidson?
