Every summer you are overwhelmed by mosquitoes and you’re tired of having to use all these chemicals to repel them or worse! Should you kill them? Why not make a mosquito trap?

In addition to being eco-friendly, you’ll recycle a plastic bottle while you do it! It requires very few materials and ingredients to do it and it’s super efficient!

YOU WILL NEED:

-A plastic bottle
-100 grams of sugar
-Warm water
-One tablespoon of baking powder
-Black cardboard or black garbage bag

WHAT TO DO:

1) Place the bowl in the microwave oven with 250 ml (1 cup) of water and heat for 2 minutes.

2) Add 250 grams (1 cup) of white sugar and mix well, place in microwave and heat again, but this time for 60 seconds.

3) Add 500 ml (2 cups) of water and mix well until the sugar is dissolved.

4) Cut the top of the plastic bottle and put it aside.

5) Add the syrup you made to the bottle, the mixture should be about 32 or 37 ° C (90 or 100 ° F).

6) Add the yeast to the syrup.

7) Take the top of the cut piece and place it neck down into the bottom half.

8) Cover the trap with the black cardboard or garbage bag. Mosquitoes like to lay their eggs in dark places

9) Install the trap where you no longer want mosquitoes.

The mixture of sugar + yeast + water produces carbon dioxide. The CO² attracts mosquitoes like a magnet! Rare will be the mosquito who escapes!
