Kids love Halloween crafts!

But aside from the orange pumpkins that we hang on the wall and the white ghosts hanging from the ceiling, do you have any other ideas to make scary projects with little ones?

Collect jars of jam, jars of pickles, relish jars, baby food jars or Mason jars to create beautiful lanterns.

The various shapes will add originality to the Halloween decor.

With paint, tissue paper and cheesecloth you can create mummies, pumpkins, monsters and Frankensteins !

You will need :

- Glass jars

- Rubbing alcohol

- Paper towel

- Acrylic paint

- Flat paintbrushes and sponge brushes

- Cheesecloth (pharmacies and grocery stores)

- Silk papers

- Mode Podge

- Sharpies Permanent Markers

- Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating Aerosol Spray

- Battery-powered tealight candles

How to do :

To make this beautiful DIY, you will have the choice to paint the pots, cover them with tissue paper or cheesecloth.

For the jars with paint:

1) Start by cleaning all jars with rubbing alcohol and paper towels to remove all traces of grease.

2) Then apply a coat of acrylic paint with a sponge brush on the jars. The paint will not cover everything, it will be translucent and not opaque, but it's perfect.

3) Once the paint is dry, draw the faces with Sharpies permanent markers.

4) Once the markers are dry, spray the acrylic varnish as indicated on the bottle.

For jars covered with tissue paper:

3) Then cut pieces of tissue paper and stick them on the jars.

4) Once the paper is dry, draw the faces with Sharpies permanent markers.

5) Once the markers are dry, spray the acrylic varnish as indicated on the bottle.

For jars covered with cheesecloth:

1) Start by cleaning all the jars with rubbing alcohol and paper towels to remove all traces of grease.

2) Then apply a generous coat of Mod Podge with a sponge brush on the jars.

3) Then wrap the cheesecloth aroung the jars

4) Once the Mode Podge is dry, draw the faces with Sharpies permanent markers.

5) Once the markers are dry, spray the acrylic varnish as indicated on the bottle.
