How many times do you wake up at night to urinate? If it's 2 times or more, it's probably not what you drank that's causing it!
A study conducted in Japan with 300 volunteers identified salt as the main cause of nighttime urination!
The participants were followed for 3 months, and those who had sleep problems were asked to reduce their salt intake.
Result? By cutting salt from their diet, volunteers who woke up 2 or more times each night saw their awakenings decrease to only 1 per night! The number of bathroom visits during the day also decreased for these participants.
98 participants were also asked to increase their salt consumption: yes, they all went to the bathroom more often each day and even at night!
Therefore, researchers recommend that those who wake up multiple times at night reduce their salt intake to notice a difference.
Will you give it a try?
