Do you like cooking with your slow cooker because you prepare it all morning, and when you get back from work, everything is ready and delicious because the meal cooked slowly?

Try this pork chop recipe!

YOU WILL NEED:

-4 pork chops of around 226g (1/2 pound each or 3/4 of 1 inch thick)
-Kosher salt and pepper
-Brown sugar
-30 ml (2 tbsp) of butter, divided in 2
-1 large onion, sliced (about 2 1/2 to 3 cups)
-5 g (1 tsp) of dried thyme or rosemary
-250 ml (1 cup) of chicken broth
-62.5 ml (1/4 cup) of sugar-free apple cider vinegar
-3 tbsp (45 mL) of low-sodium soy sauce
-15 (1 tablespoon) of Worchestershire sauce
-30 to 45 g (2 to 3 tablespoons) of cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp. of Water

INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Salt and pepper the chops and add the brown sugar on the pork chops
2) In a large saucepan, add half the butter and sear the meat on both sides
3) Then place the 4 chops in the bottom of the slow cooker
4) In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and roast the sliced onion
5) Add chicken broth, apple cider, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce to deglaze the pan. Stir everything to combine and make sure to scrape the roast at the bottom of the pan. Pour the cooking liquid and onions on the pork chops in the electric slow cooker.
6) Cook the meat for 4 to 5 hours at low temperature or 2 to 3 hours at high temperature
7) Remove the cooked pork chops and arrange them in the plates
8) Whisk the mixture of cornstarch and water into the cooking liquid. Place the pork chops in the slow cooker and cover with the sauce and cook again for 30 to 60 minutes or until very tender
9) Remove the cooked pork chops from the slow cooker and place them on the plates.
10) Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, vegetables or your favorite sides.
