“Invisible” Apple and Caramel Cake

Why is it called an invisible cake?

Because its "dough" is largely made from apples!

An amazing, easy to prepare dessert that will please all apple lovers.

Ingredients

Invisible cake:

  • 2 apples
  • 2 eggs
  • 2.5 oz (70 g) sugar
  • 3.5 oz (100 ml) milk
  • 0.7 oz (20 g) melted butter
  • 3 oz (80 g) flour
  • Sliced almonds

Caramel:

  • 2 oz (60 g) sugar
  • 0.7 oz (20 g) butter
  • 3.5 oz (100 ml) thick cream

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325 ° F (170 ° C).

Peel the apples, remove the hearts and cut in very thin slices.

Soak the slices in a little lemony water to keep them from turning brown.

In a bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Add the milk and melted butter, then mix.

Sift the flour into the liquid mixture.

Add the sliced apples to the mixture and, using a spatula, evenly coat the apple slices.

Pour the mixture-covered apples in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.

Garnish with sliced almonds and cook for 40 minutes.

Then cover with foil and cook again for 10 minutes.

Take out of the oven and let cool.

To prepare the caramel:

  1. Put the sugar and butter in a microwaveable bowl.
  2. Microwave for about 2 minutes. The sugar should be dark brown and sizzling.
  3. Add the cream quickly and beat vigorously with a metal spoon or beater.
  4. Pour the caramel on the cake.

Not very complicated, but oh so tasty!
