Do you know about Christmas Gnomes? They have been making their way into our homes for some time now and require less energy than mischievous elves.
Legend says they are the messengers of Santa Claus!!
A few weeks before Christmas, we place the Gnome in a location in our homes where he can get a good view of all the action.
He will watch to see if the children are being naughty or nice, and, when night comes, he will report everything back to Santa Claus!
You can obviously find Gnomes in stores, but, why not make one yourself? So, here's how to bring your very own Gnome to life, using a simple sock! A DIY project that kids will love doing with you.
You could even create a whole family!
This would look very nice in your home!
Required material:
- 1 pair of scissors
- black sewing thread
- 2 fleece socks in two different colors
- 1 more coarse sock
- ribbon
- 1 hairy accessory (pieces of an old stuffed toy, from an old winter coat, etc.)
- freezer bags
- rice

Steps to follow:
1. Place a good handful of rice in a freezer bag.
2. Close the bag and thread the fluffy sock over it.

3. Close the sock using ribbon or thread.

4. Take another sock, darker and softer than the previous one.
5. Add a little rice in this sock, to form a nose. Close it with a ribbon and cut away the excess.

6. Hang this nose around the first closed sock, like this:

7. Take a piece of hairy material and cut out a beard. Secure the beard onto the face.

8. Take one last sock (here gray) and sew or hang it on using a metal tip, so as to form a small cap.

9. Put the cap on the gnome's head
