The arrival of a new baby in a house is not without problems regarding the layout of the house. New parents suddenly need an extra room, but now it's not a good idea to start building a property!

With the upcoming arrival of their baby, this young couple decided to transform the room that was their home office, into a decent baby room. Of course, the problem for the room for the baby was now solved, but their office was a place that they wanted to keep.

It was necessary to find a solution to reintegrate it somewhere in the house. But where?

The guest room that was only used a few times a year was the ideal place to solve this problem.

Thanks to the arrangement of about twenty beams and small boards, they made this modest room a "2 in 1" very impressive. Their idea will inspire you to do the same!

  • First of all, they got rid of the bed. The couple had a better idea in mind!
  • With beams, they created a structure on the floor.
  • They integrated a sliding structure, which forms a sort of giant drawer!

  • The platform is starting to take shape.
  • Skirting boards were added to the base and a floating floor on the top of the structure.
  • Two layers of paint and this masterpiece is almost done!
  • Here is the completed platform. This project fills two needs: having an office while allowing a friend to sleep in a small, inviting and comfortable room.
  • As you can see in the pictures, the project is beautiful!
  • Since the bed is only used a few times a year, it would be ridiculous to monopolize the space of this room which is now much more "enjoyable" for this young couple in search of space!

This project can be adapted to any interior design as well as a lot of different room sizes.
