People are going crazy over these “Hot Cocoa Bombs” and here's how to make them at home.

They burst open with hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows!

Tips and Crafts

Have you heard of "Cocoa Bombs"? They are all over the Internet! They are little chocolate balls and when you pour warm milk over them and they will burst open and release a hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows - very cool! They became a hit on TikTok but are also available in big stores such as Costco! A great Christmas stocking idea.

But if you can't find these at your local store - you can simply make your own at home!

  • Chocolate Chips (pick your favourite: dark, milk or white chocolate!)
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Hot Cocoa (your favourite brand)
  • Silicone Sphere Mold (like this one)

  1. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments, making sure not to burn the chocolate. If you prefer, you can use the double boiler method.
  2. Fill the cavities of the mold with the melted chocolate. Let cool and apply a second coat of chocolate, this will make the the balls a little thicker.
  3. Place in the the freezer for around 15-20 minutes.
  4. Once they have hardened, remove the chocolate balls from the mold by pushing gently the sides with your fingers.
  5. Fill one side with a tablespoon of hot cocoa and mini marshmallows to your preference.
  6. Heat a plate in the microwave, and dip the other side of ball to melt the edges a little. Then, connect the two halves and wipe the excess chocolate around the ball.
  7. Repeat with all the balls and allow to harden.
  8. Put in empty mug and pour warm milk over the ball. Enjoy!
