Prevent ants from entering your home with the following 3 tips
Do you remember

Do you have ants in your house?

Ants like dirt and food. You leave crumbs of food on the table, or a can of soda (even empty) and you will find these small critters that nibble everything in their path. Before you panic and throw yourself into finding big solutions to get rid of ants in the house, clean all surfaces, wipe off all crumbs and make sure there are no dirty dishes in the sink.

You probably know that ants also have a sweet tooth. Avoid leaving sugary foods hanging around!

Do you have intruders in your house? Ants? Do not panic, here are 3 tips to prevent them from entering your home!

Trick 1

Cinnamon is considered to be one of the most effective methods to prevent ants from entering your home. They cannot stand the smell of cinnamon!

Dip a rag into essential cinnamon oil and mix it with water. Rub the rag on the areas where you saw ants (go all around the house!). Repeat the process daily until the ants disappear.

Tip 2

Vinegar repels ants in the same way as cinnamon: ants hate the smell!

Making a "spray" of vinegar to repel ants is the easiest thing. Pour the distilled vinegar and a little water into a spray bottle in equal measures. Add a few drops of essential lemon oil. Shake the bottle to mix well and spray where you see ants. Normally, ants make nests. They are often found in cracks between the slabs of the garden or near the foundation of the house. You will see them coming in and out of the hole several times: spray your vinegar mixture on the nest until you have an area free of ants.

Tip 3

Unlike the two recipes above, borax works to invite ants where there is food. Foods containing borax are then taken and shared by the ants with their mates in the nest. This food is meant to kill ants. Sometimes we have no choice when we have been invaded.

Mix 2 tablespoons peanut butter, 2 tablespoons sugar, a tablespoon of water and a tablespoon of Borax. Put the mixture in a plastic container with a lid. Be sure to drill holes so that ants can enter and exit the container. Ants are bringing this food back to their nest, eating it and dying afterwards.

Hope these things help you keep ants out and away from your house. We prefer, by far, the first two tips because it only displaces the ants as opposed to killing them.
