"The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Mari Kondo is a stunning book.

The life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up means: The wonderful change that storage can bring in a life! And it's a book that has taught millions of people around the world how to unclutter a house and how to do good storage so that the house is as functional as possible.

Kondo teaches people to get rid of items that do not bring them anything and to keep only the things that really serve them and that give them joy.

Here are the main points to remember:

1) The first thing to do is get rid of all the useless stuff, once and for all!

In order for your home to be perfectly tidy, you must stop having to always move a whole bunch of stuff to go find another stuff. It is by always doing these steps that we end up doing nothing. And there, disorder settles.

Therefore, decide what should stay or not in your home. Then you can purify your home to make room for the important things in your life and it will be easier for you to organize your home.

2) Does this bring me joy?:

Take each object in your hands, one by one, and ask yourself this question: "Does this trigger a certain joy in me?".

Keep only objects that will trigger positive emotions or joy in you. Learn to surround yourself with objects that give you confidence and power.

And this principle applies with everything, as much for mini-skirts as for the wool knits as for the books or even the souvenir pictures of your young years.

3) Go one category at a time:

This is the mistake that many people make. Start with one room, scatter everything and eventually become discouraged.

Mari Kondo advises to separate everything by category. Eliminate everything that no longer serves or brings us joy. And then you'll have a better view on the inventory of what's left and you'll finally sort out what you'll get rid of.

Keep only the best.

4) Vertical storage:

The principle introduced by Mari Kondo is part of his signature.

Storing everything vertically allows you to store more clothes in each drawer while allowing you to see everything in it without having to undo anything.

With this technique, your drawers should always be in order.

5) The pantry:
Most products are usually sold in boxes, jars or bottles of different sizes that are difficult to store efficiently in a pantry.

On the other hand, if you transfer all these foods into identical pots, you can organize the pantry in an incredibly efficient and practical way in addition to making it pretty.

6) Clothes in the wardrobe:
The most important thing to remember is to try to see what you have worn most often during the 4 previous seasons. Cabinets and hangers will be very practical for these clothes.

Store clothes by type, style and color to avoid having to look too much when you will need a particular piece.

Then remember that hanging clothes for example, should always be hanging in order of magnitude from left to right. The longest garment on the left and the shortest on the right to give the effect of a tidy and organized closet.

7) Handbags:
Empty your handbag every day. This tip will help you changing handbag day after day.

In order to prevent your handbags from getting moist, insert it into another bag. This tip will also save you a lot of space.

10) A perfectly tidy work area:

If you work at home, be aware that your workspace must be in perfect condition to maximize your performance. It is well known, most people are more easily distracted at home than working outside.

It's proven that a tidy and well-organized workplace inspires people to better and work more than a messy workspace.

To organize your office, use magazine racks, desk accessories, shelves and drawers. You will gain a lot of space.
