This Beetle/RV hybrid vehicle is called a Super Bugger!

Tips and Crafts

Keith and Glenna Spelrum have a very unusual car; a Beetle/RV hybrid vehicle that is called a Super Bugger! The Beetle is probably the most recognized car by his eye-catching design. They were also used in the creation of these cute Volkswagen Beetle bikes!

The Super Bugger campers were first made in 1975 with the 1968 model of the Volkswagen Beetle. Note that the conversion will cost you around $6,000. The engine of the Super Bugger is taken from a VW bus and can go at its fastest to 50-55 miles per hour. It will take you about 25 miles per gallon, not so bad for a camper.

Inside there is a small living area with two bench seats, a table and a kitchenette. The only thing missing to make it perfect would be a bed! But that's no problem if you don't mind sleeping outside in a tent.

Keith and Glenna use their Beetle conversion vehicle less as a camper but more as a conversation piece as it draws a lot of attention! Especially at car shows where the couple often steal the spotlight.
