She lives in a tiny apartment!

Emma can touch both walls at either end of her apartment! So, it's definitely not a big appartment!

Her apartment has only 82-square-foot but she manages to live in her tiny Tokyo apartment without problem.

She must be well organized to live in such a small space!

Are you curious to discover what the apartment looks like and how she lives in a tiny apartment?

I wish you a good visit!

Her story

Emma is an Australian woman who recently moved to Tokyo and was attracted by this apartment despite the fact that it was only 82-square-foot.

The apartment offered an extra room. As with many apartments in the highly populated city of Tokyo, the spaces are small, but only a few use vertical space like this. Are you curious to know more?

Interior

Through the front door of Emma's small apartment, you will enter directly into the very narrow living space. Yes, it's very small!

On the left you will find a small storage cabinet, as well as a microwave, toaster and dishware. In such a small studio, every space is used for functionality. Emma's workstation is located under the ladder leading to her bedroom. It's small is not it?

The desk

You must not suffer from claustrophobia to live in a place like this!

The kitchen

In the far corner of the Tokyo's tiny home is the practical and efficient kitchenette.

Having the microwave, toaster oven and dishes near the front of the apartment frees up space for the kitchenette. Although there is no counter space, Emma still has a small hob, a surprisingly large sink, and a mini-fridge. She places the cutting board over the sink when she needs food preparation space.

Her dining room

The living and dining area of Emma consists of a floor cushion, typical of Japanese culture and a tiny fold-out table.

A tiny space

Many Japanese houses have tables that are low to the ground and instead of chairs, there are cushions on the floor. Due to the limited space of this downtown apartment, Emma's dining room is not the most spacious, but has enough space to eat!

Bathroom

The bathroom has been designed in a very ergonomic way to save space. With just enough space to turn around, the bathroom has everything you need; a toilet, a sink and a shower. What makes this room so unique is the fact that the whole bathroom is the shower. The sink swivels to cover the toilet (and prevent the toilet paper from getting wet) and the room turns into a comfortable shower.

High ceilings

The high ceilings at the end of the apartment creates a feeling of more space

Bedroom

The bedroom is in a small loft above the entryway of the apartment.

Even though the loft is only big enough for a single bed (maybe a double), Emma finds it comfortable. She pays $600 a month, to live in her little haven. Would you be able to live in such a small apartment? Feel free to tell me your thoughts! Personally, I couldn't live there, it's too small, and you?
