Michael Coyne is a young 21-year-old man, an accomplished Special Olympics athlete and a food lover. When he just turned 21, Michael was looking for job and was excited to join the workforce, but unfortunately nobody would hire him. The reason why; he has autism, ADHD and a bipolar disorder.

The young man decided to take his future into his hands and take business classes at the Rhode Island Developmental Disability Center with the goal of opening his own coffee shop! With the help of his parents, he was able to open : Red, White & Brew Coffeehouse.

Coyne also wants to hire employees with and without special needs to help him run his business, so people like him can stop struggling to find a job.

According to his website, the Mission is to Encourage Empower Employ:

" We are a family owned coffee shop serving up more than a cup of coffee. We employ people with developmental disabilities, encourage community engagement, and change the way the world sees those with disabilities. #IamABLE "

Red, White & Brew is a specialty coffeehouse that sells locally roasted coffee beans, muffins, pastries and calzones.

We wish Michael great success with his coffeehouse! He is a great example that people with disabilities can do amazing things.
