When you leave the house for some time, whether for a trip or a hospital stay, we hope that food in the freezer is always edible when we come back.
But how do you make sure that's still the case?
Here is a simple tip:
Take a glass that you will fill with water and place it in the freezer. Once iced, place a coin on top, then return to the freezer. If on your return the coin is at the bottom of the glass, it means that everything in the freezer has thawed and you should get rid of it. However, if the coin is in the middle or on the top, your food is still edible!
The same tip can be used at any time in case of power outage.
