Boy's swimwear almost all contain a mesh to hold the genitals in place.
In the vast majority of cases, there will never be any problem with these swimwear, but if the swimwear is bad quality or if the net is worn with bathing and washing, there is a very real risk of injuries to the penis or testicles of the child.
This is what happened with this 5-year-old boy when his mother took of his swimsuit after a long swim session.
The net had completely twisted around the child's penis and despite everything she tried, she was unable to cope with the threads, especially because the organ was swollen, red, sensitive and that his son howled to death!
It is in the hospital that a doctor, equipped with instruments smaller than the one she had at home, succeeded in cutting the net.
After a few hours of observation, the child was able to return home without permanent damage. But the doctor told the mother that this is a situation he often encounters, and that in some cases, the damage has been more serious for the child who have lost a testicle in the adventure !
So, here's a tip for you: always examine your son's swimsuit net. If undamaged, remove the net completely or bin the swimsuit. There is no risk to take!
