One of the finest ways to decorate a table with flowers is to float them into the water. I even have a vase designed specifically for that, but I never use it.
Why? Cut flowers that are put into the water do not really float, they are half submerged, they turn upside down and they drown ... Drowning flowers are less beautiful than floating flowers!
Luckily, I just learned a new trick that will allow me to get out my vase again and use it for real, and this, thanks to bubble wrap!
Simply cut out small squares of bubble wrap, the same size as a flower head.
By making a hole in the middle, you can pass the stem of the flower through it.
Put it as far as possible on the stem, then cut off the excess.
When you put them into the water, each flower will float, straight, and will not be half under water!
It's a really great trick!
A trick to remember and to share with your friends!
