I think that idea could be used to renovate a small piece of furniture, no matter which one. The idea is excellent and the process really easy.
In this example, the lady found a gold small side table, but in a poor state.
She thought about this idea: cover the spots and scratches with fabric palm leaves. And I swear it's a great idea!
- Fabric palm leaves (on Amazon: 12 sheets for $11.19)
- Mod Podge - mat for furniture
- Mod Podge - shiny for furniture
- Foam brush
- Liquid gilding (sold in DIY stores)
- Thin brush
The principle is really easy. Two types of Mod Podge are needed for the furniture: a mat finish to glue the leaves and a shiny finish to give for a beautiful furniture.
She cut the leaves to glue them on the top, but also on the side of her table.
With a layer of brilliant finish Mod Podge, she gets an incredible result: the furniture looks like brand new and comes from a refined shop!
Before adding the Mod Podge, she traced the veins of the leaves with a thin brush and liquid gilding.
She used leaves, but there are other designs and patterns that might be better suited to the decor style you have. But what is sure is that this technique can be done by everyone because its easy to reproduce.
